It’s Only Me

When we first met, we called each other friends
We did things together, we shook hands.
Time has past you’ve been my best
I too was yours, we were the greatest.

We laughed and smiled, for times too many
We sang and danced, we loved each others company.
When one had troubles the other was always there
No questions asked, that’s how much we cared.

We would talk about everything;
No topic too vague, no time too wrong.
We could also just sit still and do nothing
Or simply together hum a song.

Time flies fast, we had to part to ways
We vowed we’d keep this memory for always.
We journeyed to a new path in life
New friends, new allies.

First few days we still did talk
Topic not a question
Experiences of each we sought.
Days gone by, months passed by
We still were friends, still the best…
